The recall of frozen berries by Patties foods that saw 34 people in six states contract hepatitis A virus earlier this year continues to cause damage, not only to the consumers involved but also the frozen berry market and the Importer/ distributor Patties Foods.
Patties Foods has declared that the recall in February caused a loss of 1.5 million dollars- 10 per cent of company profit. Patties Food Later declared a 80% profit loss.
Patties Foods has also increased its testing regime to include all containers of its imported frozen berries from all countries, not just China- a significant ongoing cost. Read more
