The issues with some plastics and plastic lined packaging is
1.Currently non-biodegradable (breaks down to microplastics) – APCO will sort out a lot of this.
2.Presence of PFAS (Per & Polyfluoroalkyl Substances)
We are aware and supportive of moving towards a circular economy. A circular food economy is the concept that both food and packaging are not wasted by dumping it in landfill or in some cases, incineration. While the APCO requirements are dealing with packaging recycling, systems are being introduced for food recycling, an extension of the yellow bin / green bin system for residential waste.
We have assisted several clients to reduce and manage waste and we are Corporate business supporters of FoodBank NSW ACT, assisting them and our clients to maximise the use of food products in a safe manner.
We have an interest in working with clients to develop alternative food sources such as Insects as Food and Cell based cultured meat.
